A group of cyclists has set off for a charity challenge with a difference as members hope to travel Tower to Tower in an 8,000 mile, eight-day trek.

Nick Perks, Andy Charles, John Charles, David Charles, Lee Kelly, Ian Roberts, Rob Bennett, Darren Ferneyhough, Mark Broadbent and support vehicle driver Chris Brown set off from Blackpool Tower yesterday morning.
They were watched by members of Blackpool Tower Circus, and will visit the resort’s twin town of Bottrop in Germany while on their way to the Munich Tower.
Before their journey, they paid a visit to Brian House Children’s Hospice, which is to benefit from their challenge.
And it’s not the first time the group has embarked on such a task – just last year the cyclists raised more than £8,500 for the hospice with a 600 mile journey to the Eiffel Tower.
Nick, a firefighter at Blackpool Airport, said: “We are all really looking forward to taking part in this second Tower to Tower bike ride.
“Brian House Hospice is very close to the hearts of lots of people in Blackpool and across the Fylde coast and we all feel really proud to be raising much needed funds.”
