A care worker caused injury to a police officer during a violent prolonged struggle in his home as he was arrested.
Senthilkumar Appuswami caused scratches down the officer’s arm and strain to his back.
Appuswami, 30, of The Close, Kirkham, pleaded guilty to police assault.
He was ordered to pay his victim £50 compensation and fined £75 with £50 costs plus £20 victims’ surcharge by Blackpool magistrates.
Pam Smith, prosecuting, said on the evening of November 13 police were called to the defendant’s home after an argument between him and his wife.
Peter Cave, defending, said his client, who had no previous convictions, was dreadfully sorry for what he had done and apologised.
Appuswami had been drinking that evening, which was unusual for him.
