A woman made a passing police patrol suspicious when she swopped from the driver’s seat into the passenger seat after stopping in a parking bay.
Laura Fisher was found to be more than twice over the alcohol limit.
Fisher, a 22-year-old shop supervisor, of Squires Gate Lane, South Shore, pleaded guilty to driving with excess alcohol.
She was banned from the road for 18 months, fined £200 and ordered to pay £85 costs plus £20 victims’ surcharge by Blackpool magistrates.
Paul Foster, prosecuting, said that on January 30, at 2.40am, police saw Fisher driving a Kia Picanto. She pulled into a parking bay on Squires Gate Lane and changed seats.
A breath test showed 81 micrograms of alcohol in her body – 35 is the limit.
Daniel Harman, defending, said Fisher, who had no previous convictions, had made a grave error of judgement and the whole experience had shaken her to the core.
