A FRAUDSTER who befriended an elderly man before clearing out his life savings has been jailed.
Sharon Greaves, 52, was locked up for more than three years by judges at Preston Crown Court today after leaving the 89-year-old virtually penniless.
The court heard Greaves had conned her way into the elderly man’s life and made him believe they were in a genuine relationship and would marry.
But in reality Greaves - who had lived opposite her victim on Spencer Court, Blackpool - was spending hundreds of pounds he gave her for their wedding on her drug habit.
In total, Greaves stole £2,460 and also robbed her victim of his independence after he was forced to move back in with his family following the ordeal.
Graves pleaded guilty to six offences of theft and will serve three years and two months behind bars.
