Blackpool Magistrates' Court

A woman who stole more than £200 of property from three Blackpool shops has appeared before a court.

Nicola Lord, 37, of Rosemary Avenue, South Shore, pleaded guilty to three offences of theft.

She was remanded in custody for pre-sentence reports and will be sentenced at a later date by District Judge Alan Jones sitting at Blackpool Magistrates’ Court.

Alison Quanbrough, prosecuting, said Lord took £118 of fragrances from Debenhams on July 23.

The next day she stole a £10 bottle of vodka from Lidl and on July 27 stole two handbags, a purse and perfume valued at £109 from TK Maxx.

She was on bail at the time of the offences.

Suzanne Mugford, defending, said Lord had come out of prison to find herself facing eviction from her flat. She had not yet been given benefits and had no money for food, gas or electricity. She panicked and stole, hoping to get some money together.
