A woman spat at a 62-year-old man during a fracas in Blackpool.

Belindi Mitchell, 40, of Harley Road, Blackpool, pleaded guilty to threatening behaviour.

She was given a 12 months conditional discharge and ordered to pay compensation of £50 plus £15 victims’ surcharge by Blackpool magistrates.

Sharon Child, prosecuting, said on January 11 Mitchell became involved in a melee between two men and spat in the face of one of them.

David Charnley, defending, said his client spat at the man only because she was shouting at him. Her action was reckless rather than intentional.
