A WOMAN launched an unprovoked attack on another woman by grabbing her hair and spitting in her face, a court was told.

Witnesses said Lianne Higgins then tried to ram the woman’s head into a car.

Higgins, 22, of Langdale Road, Mereside, pleaded guilty to assault.

She was bailed to April 19 by Blackpool magistrates.

Martine Connah, prosecuting, said the victim came out of a flat on Central Drive on January 30 about 9.20pm.

Higgins went up and grabbed her hair before spitting at her and punching her in the back of the head.

Witnesses said both women had at one time been out with the same man and they presumed the attack had something to do with that.

Stephen Duffy, defending, said Higgins, who had no previous convictions, denied spitting or hitting the other woman.

However, she did admit pulling her hair.
