Woman over limit morning after binge

Blackpool Magistrates Court

Blackpool Magistrates Court

A mother-of-two was double the legal drink drive limit when she drove away from her home.

That was at 9.50am and when she was stopped by police she had only gone 100 yards and had not got out of second gear. Former civil servant Lisa Hutchings had been drinking the night before and when she was breath tested she had 82 milligrams of alcohol in her breath - the limit is 35 - Blackpool Magistrates were told.

Hutchings, of Highbury Avenue, Layton, admitted drink driving and was banned from the road for 17 months and was fined £175.

Jessica Partington, defending told the court: “This woman had no previous convictions- not even a parking ticket. She was shocked when she was told she was over the limit the morning afterwards.”
