A woman hid a bottle of vodka down her top and tried to walk out of a shop without paying for it.
Anne-Marie Lacey, 50, of The Promenade, Blackpool, pleaded guilty to theft.
She was given a 12 months’ conditional discharge and ordered to pay £85 costs plus £15 victims’ surcharge by Blackpool magistrates.
Jane Yates, prosecuting, said a woman working at the resort’s Aldi saw Lacey conceal a bottle of vodka in her top on June 14 at 2.25pm. Lacey then walked past the tills without paying and was apprehended by a security guard. She told police she had no money and she had gone into the shop intending to steal the vodka.
Patrick Nelligan, defending, said since the offences Lacey had managed to keep alcohol free.
