A woman who threatened to jump off Blackpool’s North Pier then fled from an ambulance crew.
The woman had a razor blade and was believed to be going to harm herself when she ran off into the grounds of Blackpool Victoria Hospital.
Ambulance personnel and police found her with a cut neck and she handed over to officers a multi-tool which contained a knife.
The 24-year-old woman from Clitheroe, pleaded guilty to possessing a knife in public.
She was bailed for pre-sentence reports by District Judge Jeff Brailsford, who was sitting at Blackpool Magistrates’ Court.
Martine Connah, prosecuting, said police received a call for help from an ambulance crew searching for a patient who had fled after she was taken to hospital. It happened on November 4 at 4pm.
The woman had gone in the ambulance after she threatened to jump off North Pier.
She had threatened to cut herself with a razor blade Allan Cobain, defending, said it was a sad case of a woman of considerable intelligence who suffered from mental health issues.
Mr Cobain added: “No-one suffered any harm. At the hospital she did not brandish anything sharp or threatening anyone.”
