A WOMAN has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder following a stabbing in Fleetwood.

Emergency services were called to a flat in Adelaide Street in the port following a domestic disturbance.

The victim, a 61-year-old man, had suffered wounds to his chest and stomach.

He was treated at the scene by paramedics before being taken by ambulance to Blackpool Victoria Hospital.

Police said his injuries were not believed to be life threatening.

A neighbour raised the alarm just after 9am yesterday. The incident was contained to inside the property.

A 56-year-old woman was arrested at the scene and is currently in custody helping detectives with their inquiries.

Detective Insp Jo Dent, of Fleetwood CID, said: “I’d appeal for anyone who may have been in the Adelaide Street area between 9am and 10am, who may have seen or heard anything that could be of assistance to us, to come forward and contact police.”
