Police have seized dozens of cannabis plants from an address in Blackpool.

Following reports from the community, officers went to a property in the Claremont area on Sunday, where they found 84 plants.

PC Matt Hornby, community beat manager for Claremont, said: “We’ve had some community intelligence come in recently, the fact a van was visiting an address in Claremont and there was hydroponics equipment being taken into a property.”

A woman in her 20s has been arrested on suspicion of cultivation of cannabis.

PC Hornby said 84 plants were found in a downstairs room of the property.

He added: “There were a lot of unused bags of compost, so we are going to be donating them to the community garden at the Claremont Community Centre.”
