Witness plea after town centre assault

POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a 22-year-old man suffered head injuries following an assault in Blackpool.

Around 2am on Sunday 20 November, a man began talking to victim in the Revolution bar on Market Street, before he punched him in the face causing him to fall to the floor.

The 22-year-old was taken to Blackpool Victoria Hospital where he was treated for his injuries, but he has since been discharged.

Sgt Mark Dickinson said: “This man suffered a nasty head injury and I am keen to speak with anybody who may have seen this assault. If anybody was in the bar at the time of the incident and saw exactly what happened then I would urge them to come forward.”

A 22-year-old man from Blackpool has been arrested on suspicion of wounding and has been released on bail pending further enquiries.
