Police said one of the victims was a 48-year-old woman who was punched in the face. It is alleged she was assaulted after getting into an argument with another woman inside the takeaway.

The offender then ran off, police said. Officers have now released images of a man and a woman (pictured) they believe were present at the time, who may have witnessed the incident, which took place at around 12.10am on August 10.

A Lancashire Police spokesman said: “The victim became involved in a verbal altercation with another woman inside the takeaway. This woman has then punched the victim in her face before making off on foot.”

Police were unable to provide details of the second alleged assault.

Police are appealing for witnesses and would like to the two people pictured above, as well as a second man wearing a pink or red T-shirt who was seen with them inside the takeaway.

Anyone with information should call police on 101.
