POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a man was attacked with a brick and knife.

The 25-year-old resort victim was walking along a side street which runs off Singleton Street, Blackpool, when he was approached by four men.

For no reason, he was hit a number of times with a brick and received a cut to his neck by some sort of blade.

He was treated in hospital for the cut to his neck, as well as a cut above his eye.

One of the men was described as white, around 21-22 years old, six foot one inch tall and of a medium build.

He had scruffy, dark brown hair and facial stubble and was wearing a t-shirt.

A second was described as white, around 16-17 years old, around five feet tall and of a skinny build. He was riding a silver BMX bike.

PC Andy Gilmour said: “This was a nasty attack which was completely unprovoked.”

The incident happened at around 6.40pm on Friday October 7 but details have only just been released by officers.
