A COURT heard how a woman had to be rescued from a 20ft high window ledge by firemen.
The woman had allegedly been assaulted by Colin Ellison, 27, of Reads Avenue, Blackpool. Ellison made his first appearance at court charged with assault – allegedly punching and using a knife – on the woman at her flat above a shop on Reads Avenue on Tuesday.
Alison Quanborough, prosecuting, said Ellison was arrested after police and the fire service were called to the flat where the woman was allegedly seen by magistrates perched on a ledge.
Blackpool magistrates granted bail following an application by Ellison’s lawyer Hugh Pond.
Ellison must live at an address in Accrington and must not enter Blackpool apart from for legal appointments.
The case against him was adjourned until August.
