A man kicked and cracked a shop window before ramming a wheelie bin into the door.
John Murphy, 43, of Thornton Gate, Thornton, pleaded guilty to causing damage.
He was ordered to pay £100 compensation by Blackpool magistrates who imposed no other penalty.
Jane Yates, prosecuting, said a witness saw Murphy kick and crack the window of a stationery shop on Abingdon Street on July 5 about midnight.
Peter Manning, defending, said his client, who had pleaded guilty at the first opportunity, had spent the night in custody.
