Weapon threat raiders are caught on cameras

These are the shocking moments two robbers terrified staff at a Blackpool travel agents and stole several thousands of pounds.

The men made staff at Thomson Travel on Birley Street believe they had weapons during the incident on Saturday afternoon.

No weapons are thought to have been used in the robbery.

No-one was hurt though staff were left shaken.

The men fled the scene and are believed to have run towards Corporation Street.

They were both white, one of large build and aged in his 40s. He has a bald heard and was wearing a blue Asics sweatshirt and black tracksuit bottoms.

The second is described as older than the first, and was wearing a light coloured jumper and a black baseball cap.

Police have revealed CCTV images, taken from the store during the raid just before 4.30pm.

Det Con Mark Anson, from Blackpool CID, said: “Fortunately nobody was injured in the incident however staff were left badly shaken.

“An investigation is underway but we need the public’s help to catch the men responsible so I’d urge people to take a close look at the CCTV images and if anybody recognises either of the men pictured, or thinks they saw the men either before or after the robbery please contact the Blackpool Police.”
