Warning over spate of thefts

Police have issued a warning to residents following a spate of burglaries in Layton.

One incident happened at a house in Bispham Road between 4 and 4.15pm on Tuesday.

The offender broke a small single glazed window in the front door and unlocked the latch of the door to gain entry before stealing items of jewellery.

The second incident happened on Wednesday between 9am and noon.

A burglar smashed a rear patio door window before taking property, again including items of jewellery.

Anyone who witnessed suspicious behaviour in the area around the times of the crimes is asked to contact Lancashire Police.
