A convicted sex offender on the run from the law may have links to Blackpool, police say.

Leanne Gilder, 29, was jailed for five years after being convicted of causing or inciting child prostitution following a trial at Manchester Crown Court back in May 2012.

Gilder, who was living in the Greater Manchester area at the time, was released from prison in September and was last seen in Preston.

She is wanted for breaching the terms of her licence and failing to notify police of her whereabouts.

Gilder is described as being white, 5ft 7ins tall and of slim build.

She has a scruffy appearance and long hair which police believe has now been dyed bright red. She speaks with a Manchester accent.

Det Insp Jo Dent, of Lancashire Police’s Dangerous and Sexual Offenders’ Unit, said: “I would appeal to anyone who has seen Gilder or who has any information about where she might be to contact us.

“I would also urge Gilder herself, if she sees this appeal, to hand herself in to the police.”

Officers say she is believed to have links to Blackpool and Preston.

Anyone with information should call police on 101.
