VIDEO: Crimewatch showing for bank raid

DETECTIVES have turned to Crimewatch in a bid to uncover new leads after a terrifying armed raid at a bank.

Two masked raiders stole £19,000 from two security guards at Lytham’s Santander bank, on Clifton Street, after threatening them with a machete and crowbar just before 7pm on March 5.

And tonight CCTV footage of the robbery – which police now believe up to four men were involved in – will feature on BBC One show Crimewatch.

Police have also released a picture of the Skoda Octavia car used by the men, which was found abandoned shortly after on East Cecil Street.

Tonight’s programme will also feature footage of a man wanted by police after stealing between £500 and £700 from vending machines at Blackpool and the Fylde College, and police believe he may have committed the same offence elsewhere.
