The 29-year-old victim had left her handbag at the table when she went outside the Wetherspoons pub for a cigarette.

Shortly after 4.15pm a group of four women, two described as being in their teens and two in their 40s, entered the premises.

Police said instead of buying anything, the group grabbed the large black bag and it’s £170 contents and then left.

The victim was then called back inside by a friend and realised her bag was missing.

Police have now released CCTV images of women they want to question in connection with the theft on October 8.

PC Mark Hepplestall, community beat manager for Cleveleys, is now urging anyone who recognises the faces in these images to contact him.

He said: “I appeal to anyone who recognises the people in these CCTV images to come forward and contact me on 101.

“We will do everything we can to stamp out incidents of theft like this in Cleveleys.”
