Two men have been arrested today as part of an investigation into alleged child sexual exploitation in Blackpool.
A 34-year-old man and a 16-year-old boy were arrested at an address in Blackpool at around 10am on Wednesday.
The 34-year-old was arrested on suspicion of sexual activity with a child and the 16-year-old on suspicion of inciting sexual activity with a child.
Police said both would be interviewed throughout Wednesday.
Police also searched four addresses on Salcombe Avenue, Springfield Avenue, Bank Street and Lord Street in Blackpool and another in Fairhaven Street, Gorton, Greater Manchester as part of the investigation into the alleged sexual exploitation of a teenage boy.
Det Insp Gareth Willis, of Blackpool Police, said: “We are at the early stages of our investigation and we are working very closely with the victim and have specially trained officers in place to support him.
“We are also investigating the possibility that there could potentially be other victims who have not yet felt able to report anything to the police.
“I want to use this opportunity to encourage anyone who feels they have been a victim of sexual exploitation, to come forward and report it and be reassured that they will be dealt with sensitively and professionally and that they will receive all the support they need from us as well as our partners.”
