Flowers and touching tributes have been left outside the derelict pub where the body of a man was discovered inside.
The man has been named locally as Eugene Ferguson, and was today described in a tribute as a “top guy” who will be “missed by everyone”.
Mr Ferguson’s body was found inside the derelict Dinmore Pub, in Grange Park, on Tuesday afternoon by an official who had gone there to read a meter.
It is not known how long Mr Ferguson’s body had been inside the unsafe building on Dinmore Avenue, which closed down as a pub in the summer.
A post mortem examination was due to carried out yesterday. The results have not yet been revealed by police.
Officers are treating Mr Ferguson’s death as “unexplained”, but there are not thought to be any suspicious circumstances.
It is believed one line of enquiry is that Mr Ferguson may have broken into the pub.
After his body was discovered at around 2pm on Tuesday it was taken to Blackpool Victoria Hospital.
Tributes left at the scene of the discovery say Mr Ferguson will not be forgotten.
On says: “RIP Eugene Ferguson.
“You’re going to be well and truly be missed by everyone. You were a top guy.”
Another simply reads: “I love you so much.
“You are at rest now. Sleep tight.”
The Dinmore has been described as being in an unsafe state since it closed its doors in the summer.
