A man who turned to crime and stole from a shop after losing his job was caught out by his distinctive red trainers.
Emil Komuda was seen wearing the footwear and stealing bedding from Marks & Spencer, in Church Street, Blackpool, by a security guard before fleeing.
He returned to the store the next day and after the guard spotted his red shoes and recognised him, he was apprehended on November 6. Komuda, 28, of Central Drive, Blackpool, pleaded guilty to the theft of two sets of bedding valued at £120.
He was given a 12-month conditional discharge and ordered to pay £100 compensation, £85 costs, a £150 court charge plus £15 victims’ surcharge by Blackpool magistrates.
Steven Townley, defending, said Komuda had been laid off from his job.
