A teenager lost his temper when he went round to collect his belongings from his former girlfriend’s house,Blackpool Magistrates heard.

Mason Wood, 18, of Portland Road, Blackpool threw his ex-partner’s suede jacket onto a wet floor which also had protein powder spilled on it.

He knows he has only himself to blame. People get cautions for assaults and burglaries and one would have thought this case merited such action but the powers that be thought otherwise

The jacket was marked during the incident and Wood who admitted criminal damage now has to pay her £50 compensation. He must also pay £200 court costs and he was given a six month conditional discharge.

Robert Castle defending, said: “He knows he has only himself to blame. People get cautions for assaults and burglaries and one would have thought this case merited such action but the powers that be thought otherwise.”
