A TEENAGER has been arrested in connection with a flashing in Layton.

The 15-year-old boy was arrested on Tuesday night on suspicion of indecent exposure a two 11-year-old schoolchildren were flashed in Layton cemetery on November 8.

His arrest came as a direct result of an appeal in Tuesday’s Gazette, and the teenager has now been bailed pending further inquiries.

However police are still appealing for information about 13 other sex attacks which have taken place in Layton over the last year.

DI Tony Baxter, from Blackpool’s Public Protection Unit, said: “Inquiries are ongoing in relation to all the offences and we are keeping an open mind as to whether they are connected.

“I would like to thank The Gazette readers for their assistance so far.”

There have been 14 incidents across Layton since November last year, largely in the cemetery itself but also in nearby Kingscote Park.

The incidents have been a mixture of flashings and attacks where girls have been grabbed, and have largely involved schoolchildren walking to and from school.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
