A teenager accused of hitting a sales assistant around the head and shoulders with a hammer during a raid on a jewellers and pawnbrokers has made his first appearance at court.
Dylan Worley, 18, of Redvers Terrace, Northfield Avenue, North Shore, Blackpool, is charged with attempting to rob Nathan and Co, Cedar Square, Blackpool, on September 2.
He is also accused of maliciously causing a shop worker grievous bodily harm with a hammer.
Worley is further charged with possessing a hammer as an offensive weapon at the jewellers and pawnbrokers shop.
Pam Smith, prosecuting, asked for the case to be heard at crown court and Worley to be remanded in custody.
Avisha Gulhati, defending, did not ask for bail for her client or indicate his pleas to the charges.
Worley was remanded in custody to appear at Preston Crown Court on October 3 by Blackpool magistrates.
