A woman was spat at by a stranger in a shocking unprovoked attack.

Now police have issued these CCTV images of a man they would like to speak to in connection with the incident.

The 21-year-old victim was leaving the Premier store on Highfield Road, South Shore, when she was approached by a man, at around 6pm on April 28.

The stranger threatened her with violence before spitting at her.

And when the victim’s partner, who was waiting for her outside the shop, tried to intervene the attacker threw a large wooden pallet at him, which struck and damaged his car.

The man then ran off.

PC Ian Byrne of Blackpool Police said: “If anyone recognises the man pictured in the CCTV images I would urge them to get in touch with us as soon as possible.”
