A banned driver who took over the wheel when his father fell ill has been ordered to do unpaid work for the community.
David Milsom, 42, of Kane Street, Preston, admitted to driving while disqualified without insurance.
He was sentenced to 110 hours payback work, banned from the road for six months and ordered to pay £85 costs by Blackpool magistrates.
Prosecutors said on October 31 last year Milsom was seen driving a Ford Focus on Blackpool Road, Kirkham.
Milsom was described as having an horrendous record of disqualified driving in the 90s and a conviction for driving with excess alcohol last year.
Robert Castle, defending, said that Milsom had taken over the wheel when his father thought he was suffering a stroke on Blackpool Road.
