Son admits rampage over boyfriend

Blackpool Magistrates Court

Blackpool Magistrates Court

A SON has admitted going on the rampage to vent his fury over his mother’s choice of boyfriend.

Blackpool Magistrates’ Court heard Joseph Leonard smashed a fruit bowl and glasses, broke a TV and damaged a camera after losing his temper over his mother’s choice of date.

The 22-year-old, of St Alban’s Road, St Annes, admitted causing damage when he appeared before the court yesterday.

Hugh Pond, defending, said: “My client does not approve of (the boyfriend) and says he drink too much and is a bad influence on his mother.”

The police were called to his mother’s address, on the same road, following the incident.

In court, Leonard disputed the amount of compensation and claimed the camera had been broken before the incident.

Blackpool magistrates decided to fine Leonard £70 and pay his mother £70 in compensation and costs.
