Detectives investigating a £50,000 burglary in Poulton say they are convinced “someone somewhere” knows where the items are.
Det Sgt Kathryn Riley, of Wyre CID is urging anyone with information about the burglary of the EVTS warehouse on Poulton industrial estate to come forward.
Thieves targeted the EVTS storage and distribution unit on Aldon Road and stole 10,000 jars of Vaseline, £5,600 of red wine, 1500 cases of Bells cough Linctus, plus large quantities of electrical hair products, Budweiser beer, washing powder, whisky, vodka, sweets and other pharmaceuticals on November 30.
Det Sgt Riley said; “I am convinced that someone somewhere has seen these items being stored or has seen been approached by someone trying to sell large quantities of them.
“The incident had been meticulously planned over a four hour window. I urge anyone who spots large quantities of these items being stored anywhere to contact police.
“Obviously, I don’t want to speak to someone who has five jars of Vaseline in their cupboard at home but if anyone is approached or offered large quantities I would like to hear from you.”
Officers said they are currently trawling their way through the hours and hours of CCTV footage they have collected.
The thieves gained entry by forcing the entrance roller shutter doors before removing two HGV wagons that were parked inside the unit and abandoning them near to the premises.
All the items were then loaded into six large vehicles with cloned number plates over a four hour period.
Det Sgt Riley said: “On the back of the first appeal in the Gazette we had a good number of calls about potential vehicles that could have been used.
“Our priority now is to find the stolen items and those responsible.”
Anyone with information should telephone the police on 101.
