Sister in law gets punched in face

Blackpool Magistrates Court

Blackpool Magistrates Court

A MOTHER-OF-FIVE punched her husband’s sister in the eye during an argument.

Jessica Rihani broke her sister-in-law’s glasses and caused a cut above and below her eye.

Rihani, 37, of Clifton Drive, South Shore, admitted assault.

She was given a 12-month conditional discharge and ordered to pay compensation of £100 to her victim, £85 costs and £15 victims’ surcharge by District Judge John Maxwell sitting at Blackpool Magistrates’ Court.

Pam Smith, prosecuting, said the offence happened on January 11 during a row involving Rihani, her husband and sister-in-law.

Rihani punched her sister-in-law breaking her glasses.

A piece of glass went in the victim’s eye and she suffered two cuts.

Peter Cave, defending, said his client, who had no previous convictions, had been ill at the time.

She had co-operated fully with the police.
