A window cleaner caused a crash when he attempted to drive on to a garage forecourt in front of another car.

Christopher White and the driver of the other vehicle were both injured in the accident. White, 27, of Freckleton Street, Kirkham, pleaded guilty to driving without due care and attention.

He was fined £100 with £85 costs plus £20 victims’ surcharge and had four motoring penalty points put in his licence by District Judge David Scanlon sitting at Blackpool Magistrates’ Court.

Pam Smith, prosecuting, said White was driving a Ford Focus on Mains Lane, Singleton, when he collided with a Ford Mondeo as he turned into a service station on February 20 at 6pm.

Malcolm Cartwright, defending, said his client had suffered a momentary lapse of concentration.
