A 50 year old man who has now committed 114 similar offences in the Blackpool area has been jailed for 56 days.
Alan Brown orders meals and drinks in restaurants and eats them before telling the owners he cannot pay.
His latest offence involved an Indian restaurant on Devonshire Road where Blackpool Magistrates heard he enjoyed a £52 “blow out “.
Police arrested him when he said he could not pay.
Allan Cobain ,defending, said: “My client is something of a free spirit. He will sleep rough or use a hostel and when he is hungry will commit this sort of offence knowing that he will be punished.”
Jailing him District Judge Jeff Brailsford told Brown: “Restaurant and café owners deserve protection from someone like you.”
