THE funeral of the teenager stabbed to death in South Shore will take place next week.
Sasha Marsden’s funeral will be held in St Chad’s Church, in Poulton, on Wednesday.
The 16-year-old’s body was discovered in the alleyway behind The Grafton House Hotel, on Kirby Road, South Shore, last month.
She had allegedly been stabbed up to 100 times before being set alight.
Her inquest was opened and adjourned by Blackpool coroner Anne Hind on Monday, and police today confirmed the funeral would take place at the church from 12.30pm. It will be followed by a burial at Poulton New Cemetery.
The family have requested family flowers only at the service, but are inviting people to make donations to Preston’s Safe centre, and this can be done via funeral directors Co-Operative, in Bispham.
Sasha, from Staining, was a childcare student at Blackpool and The Fylde College, and hundreds of tributes have been posted online since her death.
David Minto, 22, of Kirby Road, South Shore, has been formally charged with Sasha’s murder and will next appear before Preston Crown Court in April.
