Road ban for over the limit driver

Blackpool Magistrates Court

Blackpool Magistrates Court

A JOINER panicked when he crashed his car because he knew he was over the drink drive limit.

Ricki Wilson drove away from the scene of the accident despite extensive damage to his Vauxhall.

He had hit two other cars and a wall, Blackpool Magistrates heard.

Wilson, 27, of Westwood Avenue, Blackpool admitted drink driving and failing to stop after a road accident.

He was fined £375 for the drink drive offence and banned from the road for 14 months.

He was fined £100 for failing to stop.

Tracy Yates, prosecuting, said that after driving off Wilson later dumped his car.

He was seen by a witness who gave police a description of the driver which matched Wilson when police called at his home.

Wilson told the hearing: “I panicked because I thought I would lose my job.”
