Police fear one of Manchester’s most wanted men is committing crime in Blackpool.
Karl Daniels, 35, of Stockport, is wanted in connection with a rape, witness intimidation and three burglaries by Greater Manchester Police.
And Lancashire Police believe he has connections with the theft of a handbag at the Merrie England Bar at North Pier on Tuesday at around 9pm.
Det Sgt Mike Morris said: “Two people were reported as acting suspiciously in the area that evening, and we believe this man was one of them.
“We are concerned this man, who is quite a serious character, could be staying in one of our hotels.
“If he stays in this area he might commit more crime and we need to catch him as soon as possible.”
The handbag, which has not been recovered, contained make up and £10 in cash.
Daniels is wanted in Manchester after a young woman was raped at her home.
He is also wanted in connection to the intimidation of witnesses in relation to the rape, and for burglaries where items including a television, cash and a car were stolen.
Supt Chris Sykes, of Greater Manchester Police, said: “Anyone who sees him should not approach him but call police immediately.”
Anyone who has seen Daniels, or knows where he might be, should call police on 101, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
