The pair then smashed a glass panel in the front door before making off with £500 in cash and cigarettes worth an estimated £1,000.

PC Nick Trangmar, of Blackpool Police, said: “A large quantity of cash and cigarettes were stolen from the till after the two offenders smashed their way into the shop.

“They have used some type of tool to smash the glass panel in the shop front door on Cocker Street and have climbed through.”

Inquiries to identify the two men following the incident on December 8 have so far drawn a blank and police have now released the images in the hope somebody will recognise the thieves. The timestamp of the CCTV shows the burglary at the shop, on the corner of the junction with the Promenade, took place between 6.10am and 6.25am.
