And today police have released images of the power tools, including Makita and Paslode branded items, which were stolen in Sunday night’s raid.

The offenders also attempted to break into Smiths Equipment Hire, on Clifton Road, and the One Stop Hire Shop on Mowbray Drive, in Bispham, during a crime spree police believe was deliberately targeting high-value power tools.

They fled empty-handed from both Smiths and the One Stop Hire Shop.

A Ford P100 Poplar van, stolen from Lindsay Court in St Annes, was used in the incidents at Smiths and Top Gun, while a grey Ford transit van was taken from Stopford Avenue, in Bispham, and used in the attempted raid in Bispham.
