A three-year-old girl who had to be rescued from a St Annes swimming pool died from drowning, it has been revealed.
The girl, who has not been named by police, was found after getting into difficulties in the pool at the Dalmeny Hotel, on South Promenade, last Thursday.
She was taken to hospital, but died several hours later.
A Home Office post mortem examination has revealed the cause of death was drowning.
A 40 year old woman who was arrested on suspicion of murder and child neglect remains on bail pending further enquiries until November 15.
