POLICE are appealing for information following the theft of a high-value skip from a timber merchant.

Thieves removed a padlock to get into the secure compound on Mowbray Drive, in Blackpool, .

Once inside, they reversed a large tipper vehicle in and stole a £5,000 orange ‘Plevin’ blow skip, used to collect sawdust.

The thieves’ vehicle was caught on camera and police have today released the images as part of their appeal for anyone with information to come forward.

PC Nicola Bingham, from Blackpool Police, said: “The thieves have had to use a large vehicle to remove the skip and it is possible that someone may have seen them and thought that such activity was out of the ordinary.

“If anyone has information, we would ask them to get in touch.”
