POLICE are hunting for a robber who struck at a Blackpool bookmakers.

The incident saw staff at Ladbrokes on Talbot Road left terrified after being threatened by the raider.

Detectives said he entered the store, threatened the sales assistant and demanded cash.

He fled with a small quantity of money.

The man was described as white, approximately 5ft 10ins tall and in his late 30s or early 40s.

A CCTV image of a man police want to speak to in connection with the incident has been released and officers are appealing for the public to identify the man.

Det Con Stuart Reid from Blackpool CID said: “I would appeal to anyone who recognises the man to come forward.

We’re taking this incident very seriously and would appeal for any information which could assist our investigation.

“Fortunately nobody was hurt but the person responsible needs to be caught and anyone with information should contact Blackpool Police.”

The incident happened at around 10am on Thursday.
