DETECTIVES want to speak to this man after a frightening attempted robbery at a bookmakers.

Police have released the computer-generated Evofit image of a man they want to trace following the incident at the William Hill betting shop on Victoria Road West, in Cleveleys.

The attempted raid happened at around 9.30pm on Saturday, September 1 when a man approached a female cashier in the shop and made threats to her before demanding money.

No money was stolen and the man fled the scene.

Police have made a fresh appeal for any witnesses or people who may recognise the man depicted in the Evofit to come forward and contact them.

Det Con Andy Simpson, from Fleetwood CID, said the cashier was left shaken by the incident.

He added: “I would appeal to anyone who was in the area at the time and who may have witnessed what happened or who perhaps saw the man running away from the scene to come forward and contact the police.

“Luckily the cashier was not hurt but has been left shocked following the incident.

“Anyone with information about this incident should get in touch so we can find the man responsible.”

The man is described as white, in his mid 30s and around 5ft 9in tall.

He is of medium build, with dark brown eyebrows and a moustache.

He was wearing a dark grey or a black baseball cap, royal blue quilted jacket and white trainers.

Anyone with information is asked to call Fleetwood CID on 101. Alternatively, contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or at Crimestoppers-uk.org.
