Police would like to speak with this man in connection with the robbery and assault of a 20-year-old man on Palmer Avenue, Blackpool

This is the man police want to speak to after a 20-year-old was assaulted and robbed in Blackpool.

The man was walking along Palmer Avenue, South Shore, with a friend at 7.30pm on November 5 when he was approached from behind and hit on the back of his head.

The man had his mobile phone and cash stolen before he was punched in the head again, but several passers-by intervened to protect him.

Det Con Stuart Reid said: “This was a nasty assault and it’s important that we find the people responsible. Fortunately the man suffered only minor injuries thanks to the intervention of the passers-by.

“I am keen to trace the man pictured. I believe he could have information which will prove to be crucial to this investigation.

“If you know who this man is please come forward. I would also like to appeal directly to the man himself: if this is you then please contact us.

“If anybody has any information at all about this incident then I’d like to hear from them.”

Call police on 101 or Crimestoppers 0800 555 111.
