A man and a woman have denied the manslaughter of a two-year-old girl in Blackpool.
Barry Jones, 41, and Michelle King, 29, both of Jameson Street, pleaded not guilty to the manslaughter of Sophie Jones on March 5.
Both also denied a second charge of causing or allowing the death of a child.
Jones appeared before Preston Crown Court via a prison videolink, while King appeared at court for the hearing, which took place today.
Two-year-old Sophie was rushed to Blackpool Victoria Hospital after suffering a suspected heart attack earlier this year, but later died.
Police originally arrested four people, including King and Jones, on suspicion of child neglect, but a 65-year-old woman and a 60-year-old man have since been released without charge.
Jones and King will go on trial on October 20, with the case expected to last 10 days.
There were no applications for bail at the hearing, and both were remanded in custody by Judge Anthony Russell QC.
