Two men accused of stealing £6,000 of electrical equipment and building materials from a block of flats have made their first appearance in court.

Steven Mitchell, 32, of Fleetwood Road North, Thornton, and Neil Murphy, 39, of Lowthorpe Crescent, Preston, both pleaded not guilty to burglary when they appeared before the bench.

They are alleged to have stolen flat-pack kitchen units, tiles, cookers and bathroom equipment from the flats in Watson Road, Blackpool.

The court heard the offences are said to have happened between April 18 and 21.

The defendants were bailed to appear at Preston Crown Court on October 15 by Blackpool Magistrates’ Court.
