The man accused of murdering the father of missing schoolgirl Paige Chivers has gone on trial today.
Sean Conlon, 46, of no fixed address, denies murdering Frank Chivers in August last year and has also pleaded not guilty to an alternative charge of manslaughter.
Preston Crown Court heard Mr Chivers collapsed at his flat in Walter Robinson Court, Layton, and although he underwent various tests and scans at hospital that showed a bleed on his brain, he never regained consciousness.
The trial continues and is due to last a week.
