A driver came under police suspicion when he had what he described as “a silly moment” and overtook a car at speed.
Wayne Robinson, 29, of Chatsworth Road, Fleetwood, pleaded guilty to driving with excess alcohol without insurance before magistrates.
He was disqualified from driving for 12 months and fined £110 with £85 costs plus £20 victims’ surcharge by Blackpool Magistrates’ Court.
Pam Smith, prosecuting, said police saw Robinson in a BMW overtake another car on Poulton Road, Fleetwood, in what they thought was a dangerous manner on March 7 at 10.24pm.
They found Robinson parked in the port’s Warrenhurst Drive and he told them “Sorry, it was just a silly moment.” A blood test showed 107 millilitres of alcohol in his body - 80 is the limit.
Paul Robinson, defending, said his client had a couple of cans on a journey home from working away.
He did not believe he was over the limit when he got back and he borrowed his girlfriend’s car.
