A kitchen porter was over the limit when he decided to ride home on his moped in the early hours.
Ben Rawes, 18, of Ellesmere Road, Marton, pleaded guilty to drink-driving.
He was banned from the road for 12 months and fined £140 with £85 costs plus £20 victims’ surcharge by Blackpool magistrates.
Pam Smith, prosecuting, said police stopped Rawes as he rode a moped on Park Road on October 25 about 3.10am.
A breath test showed 51 micrograms of alcohol in his body - 35 is the limit.
Stephen Duffy, defending, said Rawes had been out, drank a relatively modest amount of alcohol and stayed at a friend’s house.
He went to sleep and woke in the early hours.
He felt totally sober and decided to go home.
